Richard R. “Rick” Kolthoff, 47, of Machesney Park went into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, January 31, 2015, in his home. Born March 28, 1967, in Freeport, the son of Bobby and Carol (Genant) Kolthoff. Rick graduated from Harlem High School. He married Jacqueline Myers on September 9, 1989 in Rockford. Rick worked as a pipefitter at Chrysler for 27 years. He was a member of the Lombardi Club. Rick loved to sing, go fishing and take family vacations. Most of all he loved spending time with his girls and his family. He will be dearly missed by his family.
Survived by his wife, Jackie; daughters, Courtney (fiancé, Timothy Furman) and Kelsey (boyfriend, Brice Terpstra); parents, Carol and Bob Kolthoff; sisters, Chris (Don) Apgar, Dana (Chuck) Myers and Dora Brasher; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend and cousin, Neil Dummer; in-laws, John and Barb Myers and special cat, Peppy. Predeceased by his paternal and maternal grandparents and aunt, Holly Genant.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with Pastor Bobby Sheets officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, and will continue from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
