Richard T. Hughes

Richard T. Hughes 68 of Rockford passed away Friday June 26, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Madison. He was born June 6, 1947 in Rock Island. The son of James and Joy Hughes. He graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He married Cindy Berman in Tempe, AZ on October 20, 1971. Richard was the owner of Hughes Business Technologies. He served as Spec 5 Crypto Repair Technician in the US Army from 1969 until 1972.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy. Son, Nathan (Sara) Hughes of Elkhorn, WI, two awesome grandsons, Loren and Elias. Mother, Joy of Rockford. Siblings, Connie, James, Michael, Patrice, Christine, Hattie, Kevin, Nora, Mary, Kathleen, Zachary, Frank and Kelley. Numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father James and sister Rita. Richard will be long remembered for his sense of humor, infectious laugh and love of life.
Funeral service at 11am Wednesday July 1, 2015 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home 1860 S. Mulford Road with Father William Wentink officiating. Burial at Belvidere Cemetery.
