Richard "Yogi" R. Roegiest

Richard “Yogi” R. Roegiest, 76 of Cherry Valley, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

Richard was born in Chatham Ontario, Canada on April 25, 1945, son of Raymond and Beatrice (Momney) Roegiest. He married Sally Kopp on August 6, 1966 in Addison, IL. Richard worked as a carpenter at F. B. G. Corporation of Elmhurst, IL for many dedicated years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and his many carpentry projects. Most of all, Richard cherished his time spent with family. He will be dearly missed.

Those left to honor Richard’s memory include his wife, Sally Roegiest; daughter, Pamela (James) Henderson; grandchildren, Julia (Noah) Burkitt, James Henderson (Alyssa Whaley) and Sarah Henderson (Chase Cooper); sisters, Patricia (Casey) Nacyk and Carrol (Richard) Bailey; numerous nieces and nephews. Richard is predeceased by his parents.

To honor Richard’s wishes, there will be no public services held. In lieu of flowers he would wish for you to donate to Toys for Tots this holiday season. It was his favorite thing to make a child smile.
