Romona M. Haggerty, 92 of Rockford, Went home peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on January 2, 2011. Born January 22, 1918 in Pittsville, WI. Devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Sincere friend of the Poor Clare Nuns. Very active at the St. Elizabeth Social Center. Daughter of Thomas & Veronica (Gable) Cleary. Predeceased by her husband Jerome Paul Haggerty who she married on October 21, 1939; a sister Mary Lou; brothers George, Eugene & Roy. Survived by son, Jimmy T. Haggerty, daughter Mary Colette (Doug) Selander; sisters, Doreen (Bob) of Janesville, WI, Dorothy of Rockford, Kathy (Tony) of Florida; Sister-in-law Betty; grandchildren, Nicolette (Brad) of Plainfield, IL, Lori (Brian) of New Berlin, WI, Mark (Jasmine) of Singapore, John Paul (Jenn) of St. Louis Park, MN, John David, Mary, Sara; great-grandchildren; Brad, Katie, Jonathan, Makayla, Aspyn, Lilla, Esme, Carrie, Cassie, Brandan, Sara, Erin, Nicholas & Austyn. She was a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose memory will live on. Funeral Mass 10 am Saturday, January 8, 2011 at St. Mary Oratory. Visitation 5 to 7 p.m with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory (Riverside Chapel) 3910 N. Rockton Avenue. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
