Roy Tatro

Roy Tatro, 76, Rockford, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 13, 1937 in Fort Ripley, Minnesota; the son of Leo and Anna (Conley) Tatro. Roy married the love of his life, Gina Ruffalo on July 13, 1963. He was a proud US veteran serving in the Air Force. He worked in management for Modern Suspension until his retirement in 2006. Roy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed cooking and grilling. He was an avid fisherman and a Green Bay Packers Fan. Roy will be missed by those who loved him and those who knew him. He was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to OSF Hospice and Home Instead for their compassionate care. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gina; daughter, Susan (Matthew) Marshall; grandchildren, Sara and Alex Marshall; sister, Alice Ivsac of Pleasant Prairie, WI and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; daughter, Lesa Tatro; granddaughter, Alana Marshall; brothers, Leo and Richard Tatro. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6284 Valley Knoll Dr. Visitation from 9:00 am until the time of Mass at Church.
