Shirley Beverly

Shirley Beverly, 91, of Rockford passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center. Born February 19, 1923, in Elgin, the daughter of William and Esther (Bissell) Nitz. She married Roy Beverly in 1941 in Elgin; he predeceased her on December 13, 2002. They celebrated 61 years of marriage. Shirley was an avid golfer and bowler, playing on leagues. She was known for her kindness and generosity to others. The Beverly Family would like to give a special thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice and Dr. Dennis Norem.

Survived by her children, Jim (Joyce) Beverly and Barbara Montgomery; grandchildren, Jay (Kim), Jeff, Jon (Fenna), Troy and and Dustin (Rayonda); great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jack, Scooter, Timmy, Alexis, Mason, Diem and Riley. Predeceased by her husband, Roy and brother, Robert.

Memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 South Mulford Road. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Private burial inurnment in Arlington Memorial Park.
