Stephen Ray Myers

Stephen Ray Myers, 64, of Rockford died Thursday, February 5, 2015 in his home. He was born on January 6, 1951 in Freeport the son of Ray and Alma (Hieronomus) Myers. After graduating high school, Stephen took college courses to become a machinist. After serving his apprenticeship and several years of working he was the proud owner of his own companies that included Alternative Punch, Stonegate and Trifect. He was an avid boater and belonged to the Madison Yacht Club, enjoyed camping and cooking, loved going places and eating out but most of all cherished his time spent with family and friends. Stephen was a great man with a wonderful personality and sense of humor, he will be greatly missed by all. The family wishes to thank the following: _______________
Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Anita (Bergdorf-Wiegert); children, Jeff (Kristie) Myers of Normal, Anna (Michael) Ellerbroak of Roscoe, Jyll (Joe) Lingel of Winnebago; step daughters, Brittany Wiegert of Rockford and Katy Wiegert of Pecatonica; grandchildren, Locke, Bryn, Lucy, Payton, Hunter, Griffin; his mother, Alma and nephew, Jason Brauer. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray; brother, Larry and sisters, Kathy Brauer and Deb Zimmerman.
Funeral service Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with OSF Chaplain Ed Greenfield officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, February, 9, 2015 in the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family for a fund to be established at a later date.
