Susan Marie Simpkins

Susan Marie Simpkins, 58, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday October 9, 2011 in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born July 28, 1953 in Glendale, CA; the daughter of Robert and Marilyn Hennessy.
Graduate of Rock Valley College. She worked for SwedishAmerican Hospital for 17 years as a Medical Coding Specialist.
Was a volunteer for CASA with her daughter for many years.
She also loved to go with her friends to Canine Corners, in Searles Park where she brought her dogs Ashanti and Zoei.
Susan loved to read and travel with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Jessica Simpkins of Rockford; mother, Marilyn Peg Hennessy Callihan of Rockford; sister, Nancy Rodriguez of Burbank, CA; nephews, Dustin (Jennie) Rodriguez, Tanner (Sarah) Rodriguez; nieces, Jennifer (David) Simpkins, Shannon Simpkins and Kelly Simpkins; greatnephews, Madison and Jake Rodriguez; brotherinlaw, Jim (Vila) Simpkins; stepsister, Pat (Mike) Hayes; stepbrother, Michael (Annette) Callihan; special cousins, Craig (Louise) Skolrood.
Predeceased by her father, brother, Steven and stepfather, Norman Callihan.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Grace United Methodist Church, 3555 McFarland Rd. Rockford.
Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford assisted the family.
