Terrence Terry Lee Hangartner

Terrence "Terry" Lee Hangartner, 62, of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in his home surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 6, 1948 in Chicago, IL. Terry was raised by his grandfather, Walter Henry Hangartner and his mother Vernette Jean Hangartner Anderson. He served in the US Navy. He was stationed in Atsugi, Japan and later served during Vietnam on the USS Constellation. He was co-owner of P and H Electric Corp. He loved all sports and enjoyed to travel. There were two very special people that joined Terry late in his life - his beloved fiancé, Darlene, who cherished, loved and cared for Terry during the most difficult times of his life, and his business partner, Steve Pierce, who dedicated his all to P & H Electric and Terry to build the successful business which Terry was so very proud of.Survivors include his loving fiancé, Darlene Naretta; son, David (Terri Hitzke) Hangartner; daughter, Trisha (Ramon) Posada; siblings, Scott (Marianne Welsh) Hangartner of McFarland, WI, Karen (Charlie) Mondt, Vicki (Hank) Nance, Patti (Ed) Bartz of Williams Bay, WI and Scott (Julie) Anderson of St. Cloud, MN; his business partner, Steve Pierce; many nieces and nephews and his granddog, Samson. Predeceased by his parents, Frank & Vernette Anderson, Walter Henry and Lolita June Hangartner; and sister, Susy Gray.Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20 at the funeral home.
