Virginia K. Ginney Jones, 87 of Rockford, died peacefully in her home on February 5, 2007. Born on March 18, 1919, in Chester, PA., to Joseph and Alphena Christopherson. She was raised in Beloit, WI and married William Jones on March 8, 1947, in Rockford. She retired after 19 years from the Packing Dept. at Amerock. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Ginney loved to travel, read, work crossword puzzles, mow her lawn, watch CNN and was very proud to be a life long Chicago Cubs fan, attending her first Cubs game in 1927 at Wrigley Field. Survivors include her 3 daughters, Cathay Jones, Linda Berg and Nancy (Tom) Peterson; son, Kris (Lynne) Jones; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill, parents Joseph and Alphena, Step-Father, Gunnar, her beloved daughter Bonnie, brother, Ronald and her much loved sister Joan. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to VNA nurse Cheryl and VNA Hospice for their loving care. nbsp; Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Interment will be held in Willwood Burial Park.
