Cyrus “Cy” Stanfa, 86, of Machesney Park, passed away at home on May 10, 2026. Born in Rockford, IL to Samuel and Virginia “Jenny” (Gullotto) Stanfa on March 15, 1940. He married Sylvia J. Stevens on February 4th of 1961. They were married for almost 61 years until her passing on January 20, 2022. He worked as a salesman for Sears for many years and later Home Depot, where he then retired at the age of 75.

Cyrus is survived by his daughters, Joni McQueen, Diana Couture; grandchildren, Logan (Julia) McQueen, Maddison (Tobey) Williams, Ian Couture; brothers, Peter (Cindy) Stanfa, Sammy (Chris) Stanfa, Nicky (Ead) Stanfa; sister, Jeannie (Tim) Hussey; brothers-in-law, Don Odens, Jerry (Katie) Stevens; sister-in-law, Barb (Peter) Giolitto; and dearest friends, Joe (Shirley) Battaglia and sons. He is predeceased by his parents; wife, Sylvia; and sisters-in-law, Carol Miller, Gloria Odens, and Ruth Ann Elms.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 6:00 through 7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108.
