Dennis W. Dance, 75, of Rockford, passed away on June 24, 2026. Born in Dayton, Ohio on March 17, 1951, to Ira (Bill) and Ruth (Phelps) Dance. He graduated from Short High School in Liberty, IN and attended Purdue University in Indianapolis, IN for Architecture. He was the president of Dance-Winger Landscape Const., Inc. for over 23 years doing commercial work in the Chicago suburbs and Milwaukee. 

Dennis loved to fish for striped bass from his boat on Lake Cumberland in KY. He also enjoyed traveling in his motor home and seeing the country with his family.

Predeceased by his only sister, Merilyn (Floyd Summers). Survived by his wife of 46 years, Judy; daughter, Stacy Dance; grandchild and daughter, Alyviah; and grandson, Malik Bates. 

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. through 2:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108.
