Doris J. Herlugson, 92, Rockford died on Thursday, August 18, 2026, in her home at Morning Star Village. Born April 27, 1934, in Lake Forest, IL, daughter of Walter H. and Maline Gehrig Schultz. Graduated from Muldoon High School and St. Anthony Hospital School of Nursing. She married Richard Herlugson on Apri 21, 1956. Throughout her long career as a registered nurse, she was employed in the office of Dr. Fred Smith and the Northern Illinois Blood Bank. Survivors include her sons, Tom (Karen) Herlugson, Bill Herlugson, and John Herlugson; daughter Susan (Flint) Hollis; grandchildren, Sarah Herlugson, Sydney (Cameron) Miller, Samantha Herlugson, Karla (Larry) Krienke, Sharon (Larry) Valerius; great-grandchildren, Rose, Joseph, Andy, Lain, Elli, Dawsyn, Everleigh and sister-in-law, Lynn Schultz. Predeceased by her parents, husband, and brother, Walter Schultz.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in St. Rita Catholic Church. A visitation starts at 10:00 a.m. at the church until time of the service.
