Edward J. Hasenyager, 67, Rockford, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026. He was born on September 10, 1958, in Sterling, IL, the son of Ken Jr. and Roberta (Fitzgerald) Hasenyager. He married the love of his life and his high school sweetheart, Gina M. (Parrovecchio) Hasenyager on October 21, 1978. He graduated from West High School in 1976. For his career, he worked as a grocery store manager for Eagles and Schnucks until his retirement. He loved to help others as a volunteer firefighter. In his free time, he loved to camp and go to the boat gambling.

Ed is survived by his siblings, Paul Hasenyager, Dennis (Virginia) Hasenyager, Margaret (William) Hyser, Janet Lotter, Linda (Jeff) Misuraca, Martin (Laura) Hasenyager, Joseph (Heather) Hasenyager; his sisters-in-law, Luanne Hasenyager and Annette Parrovecchio Jurgenson; his nieces, Jackie Fluitt, Emily (Kenny) Horton, Johnna (Jeremy) Bush, Amy (Kevin) White, Lisa (James) Schute, Amanda (Seth) Barnes, Cicely (Rob) Combs and their children, Tony and Mabel; Kimberly (Mark) Binder and their children, Riley, Kyzer, and Ruthie; his nephews, Matthew (Payton) Misuraca, Will Doering, and Nathan Jurgenson; and his special friend, Randy Schumacher. He is preceded by parents; his loving wife, Gina; his brother, Steve Hasenyager; his nephew, Andrew Hyser; his niece, Sarah Hyser; his in-laws, Tony and Josephine Parrovecchio; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lori (Pat) O’Brien; his brother-in-law, Rick Lotter; and his good friend, Ed Wolf.

Cremation rites were accorded with Fitzgerald Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life for Ed will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Lombardi Club, 209 Olive Street, Rockford, Illinois 61107.
