Gordon Edward Sunderlage “Gordy”, born on November 18, 1941, in Schaumburg, Illinois, passed away on January 26, 2026, at the age of 84.

Gordy was an Iron Worker, retiring at the age of 52. Following his retirement, he devoted his time to being a full-time farmer, cultivating the land near his Genoa, IL home until the age of 75. Gordy had a great love for farming, snowmobiling, and driving his side by side to check on his farmland. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Chicago Bears and rooting for any team who was beating the Vikings, his grandson’s favorite team. During his final years, Gordy lived a peaceful, quiet life in the country with his lifetime love, Judy, sharing much love and memories.

Gordy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Judy (Kenyon) Sunderlage; their daughter Tammy (Brian) Eck; grandsons Ryan (Amber) Eck, Andrew (Natasha) Eck, Austin Eck, and Benjamin (Micah Groebner) Eck; great-grandchildren, Nora, Grayson, Halle, Emma, Alessandra, and Sienna.

Gordy was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Ella (Krog) Sunderlage.

A private memorial service will be scheduled.
