J. Marilyn Carlson, passed away on August 30, 2026, in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. She was born in Rockford, Illinois, on October 30, 1932.

Marilyn graduated from Rockford East High School in 1951 and was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she loved singing in the choir. She worked in the office at Amerock Corporation for 43 years. Marilyn was an accomplished bowler and enjoyed square dancing. She was also a member of the Blackhawk Trails Club and the North Suburban Woman’s Club.

Survivors include sister, Sandra Swenson of Eden Prairie, MN; niece, Julie (Dennis) Schuller and their son, Daylen Schuller all of Richfield, MN; aunt, Vivian Anderson of Aurora, MN and cousins.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois. Interment will follow at Scandinavian Cemetery in Rockford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Music Department.
