Obituary

Jair Alejandro Vera-Molina, 33, passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2026, in Rockford, Illinois. Born July 2, 1993, in Tepeji del Río, Hidalgo, Mexico, Jair was the son of Alejandro Vera Gonzolas and Noemi Molina-Zavala. Though his life was far too brief, it was filled with devotion, determination, and the deep love he held for his family.

In 2010, Jair met Paola Klansja, the young woman who would become his wife when she traveled to Mexico studying abroad. Their relationship began across miles and borders but grew through an unwavering commitment to one another and the life they hoped to build together. One family story recalled the moment Paola packed her belongings in the night and boarded a bus south rather than allowing distance to separate them. With her families blessing, she moved to Mexico and the couple married on March 11, 2013, beginning a journey that reflected the faith, courage, and devotion that would define their relationship from the very start.

On September 14, 2014, Jair and his wife returned to the United States to build their life together. He was welcomed into her family with open arms and quickly became a family member they loved as their own.

Of all the roles Jair held throughout his life, none meant more to him than being a husband and father. He loved his family deeply and took great pride in watching his children grow. As coach of the Barbour Middle School soccer team, where his son attends school, he shared his passion for the game while encouraging and supporting young athletes both on and off the field. Whether at home with his family or on the sidelines of a soccer match, he found his greatest joy in being present for the people he loved most.

A devoted supporter of Club América, Jair rarely missed an opportunity to cheer for his favorite team. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, a hobby that was a well-known part of who he was, and working alongside his uncle, Jorge Zertuche. He was proud of the life he and his wife built together and worked hard each day to provide for those he held close to his heart.

Though his years were far too few, the love he gave to his family will remain with them always. His life stands as a testament to the power of love, sacrifice, and commitment, from a young man who crossed borders to be with the woman he loved to the devoted husband and father he became. His passing leaves an immeasurable void, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He will be missed by those who loved him most, his wife of 13 years, Paola; their children Alexander and Juliana Vera; his parents Alejandro and Noemi; his siblings Suriday Morales-Molina and Raziel Vera-Molina, as well as all of Paola’s family.

A time to gather in support of the family will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of Rosary, 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. Funeral Mass will take place the following day, Friday September 18th, at 10:00 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, 617 Lincoln Ave, Rockford, IL 61102.
