Jerald C. Kolls, affectionately known as Jerry, was born on February 11, 1942, in Harvard, Illinois. He passed away on March 9, 2026, in Rockford, Illinois, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and love.

Jerry had a fulfilling career that began with RC Cola, where he worked for 23 years. His strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit led him to open his own business, Illini Distributors, which he successfully operated for over 20 years. Jerry graduated from Big Foot High School in the class of 1960, the first class to ever graduate from the high school. Jerry married Kathryn Gyorkos in 2002, after sharing a loving 22 years together. 

Known for his funny personality and stubborn nature, Jerry was a loving man who brought joy to those around him. He cherished spending time outdoors, gardening, fishing, feeing the birds and enjoying the Walworth County Fair. Jerry and his beloved wife, Kathryn enjoyed camping at their lot at Rock River Leisure Estates, creating many wonderful memories together. He was a dedicated fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers, proudly supporting his teams.

In addition to his passion for sports and the outdoors, Jerry had a love for dogs. In the 1970s, he showed Newfoundland dogs, even participating in the prestigious Westminster Dog Show. He also ventured to Canada to explore amethyst mines, showcasing his adventurous spirit. Among his proudest accomplishments was owning a 1965 Corvette, a reflection of his zest for life.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; daughters, Kelly Kolls and Kristin (Don) Frey; grandchildren, Logan Ford, Sarah Powers, Matti Powers, and Sydney Frey; and 1 great grandchild, Elaine Ford. He is predeceased by his parents and daughter, Kasi Theole. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held on March 22, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford, 1860 S Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission. 

Jerry will be remembered fondly for his funny and loving spirit, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
