Obituary

Jerid Neal Butram

April 27, 1978 – October 7, 2026

Jerid Neal Butram, 48, of Winnebago, Illinois, unexpectedly passed away on October 7, 2026, and went to Heaven.

Jerid was born on April 27, 1978, to Jerry Butram and Jean Garofolo. He was so much more than a son, brother, uncle, and friend - he was the glue that held our family together. His presence brought people together, and his love, laughter, and unforgettable personality will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jerid had a huge heart, especially when it came to his dogs. He loved them all dearly, but his favorite was his beloved Cooper, who held a very special place in his heart.

In October of 2020, Jerid met James, the love of his life. From that moment forward, they shared a special love and companionship that meant the world to Jerid. Together, they created countless memories filled with love, laughter, adventures, and moments that will forever be treasured.

Jerid loved life with passion. He loved camping, taking wheeling trips in his Jeep with his extended Jeep family, and the excitement of racing. Racing wasn’t simply a hobby for Jerid – it was something he truly loved. In 2019, he proudly won the Sixers Championship at Rockford Speedway, an accomplishment he was incredibly proud of.

Those who knew Jerid will remember his loyalty, his big heart, his sense of adventure, and the way he could bring family and friends together. He leaves behind countless memories, stories, laughs, and moments that will be carried in the hearts of those who loved him.

Jerid is survived by his biological father, Jerry (Nancy) Butram; his mother and stepfather, Jean (Tom) Garofolo; his sisters, Amy Larsen, Paula (Jay) Roach, and Michelle Decker; his nieces and nephews, Mandi, Austen, Brianna, Brandi, Becci, Braydon, and Brienna; and his many great-nieces and great-nephews, along with his beloved family and friends.

Though our hearts are broken by his unexpected passing, we find comfort knowing that Jerid is now in Heaven, free from pain and surrounded by peace. His memory will live on through the people he loved, the family he held together, the adventures he enjoyed, and the countless lives he touched.

Until we meet again, Jerid, you will forever be loved, forever missed, and forever a part of our family.

A visitation will take place on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford IL, 61108. Memorials may be made to the family for a donation to a charity close to Jerid’s heart. To share memories or condolences online, please visit, www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
