Kevin B.
Thompson
June 21, 1970 – February 19, 2026
We are heartbroken to share that Kevin B. Thompson, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at his home in Westlake Village in Winnebago, Illinois. His sudden passing has left his family completely devastated and in profound shock.
Born on June 21, 1970, in Rockford, Illinois, Kevin was a lifelong Rockford native and a proud graduate of Jefferson High School, Class of 1988. He dedicated more than 30 years of hard work and loyalty to USF Holland as a professional truck driver. Kevin took immense pride in providing for his family and was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and quiet strength.
Kevin was affectionately known as “Big Kev,” “Papa T,” and “Daddy & the Divas.” He was a protector by nature — strong, funny, caring, and deeply devoted to those he loved. Above all else, Kevin loved his family. He was a proud father and grandfather whose greatest joy came from watching his children and grandchildren grow.
He shared over 30 years of love and life with his wife, Danielle Harriott. Together they built a life centered on family, resilience, and loyalty.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Danielle; his children Kaitie & Tyler Richards, Kody & Mara Harriott, and Jaiden Thompson; and his cherished grandchildren Reed (8), Rhett (6), Dawson (5), and Hatton (1).
He is also survived by his parents Robert Maness, Barb Colburn, Maryann Thompson, and Randy & Terrie Harriott; his brothers Mike & Ginger Thompson, Randy & Dawn Harriott, and Todd & Krystin Maness; his sister Connie Maness; his nieces and nephews Taylor and Ashton Thompson, Alex Harriott (Brittany), and Raven Harriott; and close family friends Kevin & Amy Appelgren and Ken & Jaime Lamer.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Thompson and Karen Maness; his brother Matthew Thompson; his sister Kim Peavy; his son Kevin Danielle Thompson Jr.; and his beloved grandparents.
Kevin loved the lake life. He found peace and joy in water skiing, boating, tubing, working out, and even washing his cars. Sunshine on the water, laughter echoing across the lake, and time spent with family were his definition of a perfect day.
A Celebration of Life will be held on his birthday, June 21, 2026, at his residence in Westlake Village. In honor of Kevin’s love for living life to the fullest, friends and family are invited to embrace “Lake Life” — float the day away and let the sunshine fill your soul, just as Kevin would have wanted.
Kevin’s strength, humor, and fierce love for his family will never be forgotten.
