Kim Elizabeth Whitmore, 63, Rockford, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026. She was born in Evanston on February 23, 1963, the daughter of William and Georetta (Weikel) Kuehl. Kim was a graduate of Hononegah High School, class of 1981. She married Charles Whitmore in Rockford on May 23, 1992. Kim worked as a stagehand at the Rockford Metro Center when it first opened in Rockford, then was employed by Hartzog Aviation at the Greater Rockford Airport for many years. She then worked in the office of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rockford in customer service for about 15 years. In recent years, Kim worked “live” at the Hard Rock Casino. She was a member of the IATSE, Local 217, for 35 years serving as their business agent and the Secretary/Treasurer. Kim shared many different interests during her life and enjoyed all the people she met throughout those times. Kim was a longtime member of Centennial United Methodist Church.

Survived by her loving husband, Chuck and her daughter, Paige Whitmore, both of Rockford; her brother, Keith (LaNita) Kuehl of Indianapolis, IN, her brother-in-law, Ken (Jeanann) Whitmore of Rockford; many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Grace United Methodist Church, 3555 McFarland Rd. Rockford with Reverend Fabiola Grandon-Mayer officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery prior to the services at church.
