Linda Helen Meyers, 85, Rockford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2026. She was born on December 16, 1940, in Oak Park, the daughter of Willard and Helen (Metzger) Reiling. Linda received her bachelor's and master’s degrees in Elementary Education from Beloit College and NIU respectively. She married Dale Owen Meyers on June 22, 1963. Linda began her teaching career at Church Elementary School, and also taught at Walker, Lathrop, and Stiles before she retired from McIntosh Elementary School after over 35 years of service to her community. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church. Linda was also a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and active in the P.E.O. International. She was grateful for many dear friends with whom she enjoyed spending time with at multiple clubs including (but not limited to): ceramics, book club, bridge club, The Red Hat Society, and many more. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, friend, teacher, and den mother.

Linda is survived by her son Darren "D.B. Mouse" Meyers and his children Jadon, Danaë along with their mother Denise Kraujalis; son Todd Aaron "Toby" Meyers and his children Benjamin, Brooke, stepson Anthony Sandoval, and their mother Kourtney Martinak-Rivera; son Chad Eric "Wicker" Meyers and his wife Amy (Fuerstenberg), and Lifelong Sister-in-Love Leta Gerber. She is predeceased by her father, mother, husband Dale (September 13th, 2002) and her sister Dolores “Lorry” Myers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Rockford. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rockford Education Foundation, 501 7th Street Rockford, IL 61104.
