Lynne Denham Vass, 80, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. She was born on September 18, 1945, in Logansport, Indiana, the daughter of Eugene and Jeane Alyce (Spencer) Denham. Lynne lived a life defined by generosity, faith, and a deep commitment to others.

Lynne grew up in Logansport, where her love of swimming led her to becoming a lifeguard in her teenage years. She went on to earn both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Indiana University, remaining a proud and passionate Hoosiers fan throughout her life.

She dedicated over 20 years of her professional career to Rosecrance Health Network, where she served as Senior Vice President of Development. Lynne was deeply committed to the organization’s mission and played an instrumental role in raising funds to support individuals and families in need. Her work reflected her lifelong passion for helping others and giving back to her community.

Faith was a cornerstone of Lynne’s life. She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, where she built lasting relationships and lived out her commitment to service and compassion. In recent years, Lynne also enjoyed attending Stateline Church, where the music truly lit up her soul and brought her great joy.

Lynne had a profound love for animals, often finding peace and companionship in their presence. Whether it was her own pets over the years or supporting local animal welfare, her heart always had a soft spot for her "four-legged friends."

Lynne will be remembered for her selflessness, warmth, and unwavering focus on others. She had a unique gift for making people feel cared for and at home, no one ever left her house without being offered food, drink, and good company. Guests could always count on cheese and crackers waiting, along with Lynne’s constant attention to making sure everyone was comfortable and happy. It was nearly impossible to get her to sit still, as she was always looking for ways to serve those around her.

Above all, Lynne loved her family. She is survived by her children, Brian Vass (Cyndee), Greg Vass, and Lindsey Vass (Patrick Bachrodt); her cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Ethan, Spencer, and Ryley Vass, Addie and Andrew Bachrodt; her brother, Brad Denham; and her nieces, Sarah Benton and Audrey Russell. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Lynne’s legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and a life well lived in service to others. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Stateline Church, 601 N. Perryville Rd, Rockford. Burial will follow in Scandinavian Cemetery, 1700 Rural St., Rockford, IL 61107. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., and again from 9:00 A.M. until 9:45 A.M. on Friday at the church.
