Mary C. Ubersox, 79, of Cherry Valley, passed away at home on July 20, 2026, after battling Parkinson’s disease for 26 years. She was born in Shullsburg, WI, on November 3, 1946, to James T. and Ella M. (Cherry) Harty. She worked for SEMS in the human resources department for 28 years. In her free time, she loved spending time with her family, as well as gardening, reading, and shopping.

She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her husband of 60 years, Steve Ubersox; her children, Todd (Mindy) Ubersox, Jill (Mike) Alt; grandchildren, Shauna Ubersox, Cole Ubersox, Hannah (Blayne) Lindquist, Ryan Alt; siblings, Cherry (Paul) Hingtgen, Joe (Debbie) Harty, Pat (Laurie) Harty, Tim (Heidi) Harty, and Andy (Ellen) Harty, She is predeceased by her parents, James and Ella Harty; and siblings, Mick (Shirley) Harty, Frank Harty, Jim (Jan) Harty, Sharon (Mike) Ennis, and Tom (Mary) Harty.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at OSF hospice, especially Brittany, Sue, Melissa, and Amy.

A memorial service for Mary will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108.
