Michael R. Bressette, 73, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, in Byron, IL. He was born in Saint Albans, Vermont on January 25, 1953, the son of Raymond and Marjorie (Cline) Bressette. He married Lisa (Phillips) Lindberg on October 2, 2015, in Oregon, IL.
Michael lived a life shaped by steady work, enduring interests, and a love for the simple pleasures that brought him happiness. He grew up in Vermont and later moved to Chicago with his family, experiences that formed the path of his life and the memories he carried with him through the years.
He graduated from Guilford High School in 1972 and went on to attend Rock Valley College. In his working life, Michael was known for his skill and dedication, working as a TV repairman at Fishers Appliance and later with Ipsen industries.
Michael will be remembered for the things he loved most. He had a special fondness for classic cars and car shows, and he proudly owned a 1967 Mustang that reflected that passion. He loved war movies and old television shows, and he found enjoyment in listening to Kenny G and Fleetwood Mac. He also loved to camp all over the United States, embracing the adventure and freedom of time spent on the road and outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa; his sons, Tony (Janet) Bressette and Louis Bressette; his grandsons, Ethan Bressette and Mathew Bressette. He is preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Northern Illinois Hospice for their care.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford IL, 61108.
