Michael Salisbury, 48, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13th surrounded by his loving family. He was a loving son, brother, and an incredible father who absolutely adored his two children, Trevor and Reagan.
Michael was born on September 7, 1977, in Chicago, Illinois. He was passionate about Star Wars, Lego, the Chicago Bears, the Bulls, and the White Sox. He loved to dance and could easily be spotted on the dance floor by the crowds gathered to watch him bust a move and his signature afro.
Michael loved nothing more in life than being a father. He had immense pride in the man Trevor became and was excited for Reagan's future. He cherished having living room dance parties, doing experiments, trying crazy recipes, and being "room dad" or chaperone on field trips.
He found purpose and joy in his involvement in Stateline Kids. Whether he was hyping kids up during worship at Sunday service or leading activities during Kids Camp, he never missed a beat.
Michael was a giving person, always looking to help others even if it meant sacrificing his own comfort. His giving nature continued even in death, donating his organs to give the gift of life to those most in need.
Those who knew him will remember his infectious smile, his generous heart, and his gentle soul. He had a gift with children and for making people feel valued, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.
Survived by his mother Patricia Keating, his son Trevor Salisbury, his daughter Reagan Salisbury, his brother Scott Salisbury (Marcie Schaeffer), his sister Samantha Salisbury, mother of his first born Ann Ballard-Rayborn, Kirstyn Becker, and Miss Kayla Sterkeson.
Preceded in death by his father James Salisbury, his dear friend Mike Padron, and both his paternal and maternal grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family through the GoFundMe link to help cover the unexpected expense. https://gofund.me/d9be3bc63
