IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Noma Kay
Weidner
November 28, 1937 – March 30, 2026
Noma K. Weidner, 88, of Rockford passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026.
She was born November 28, 1937, in Mystic, Iowa, the daughter of Willis and Georgetta (Hunt) Warnick. Noma grew up on the family farm in Mystic and after graduating from high school, moved to Rockford, Illinois.
In Rockford, she worked as a bank teller at First Federal where she met Wayne, the love of her life. They were married on September 17, 1960, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Noma devoted herself to raising her four boys as a stay-at-home mom. Later in life, she served for many years as the President and CEO of the W.A. Weidner Jewelry business. She then served as the church secretary at St. Paul Lutheran Church and was an active member of the St. Paul Ladies Guild.
Noma will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose warmth and dedication to her family and faith were evident in all of her actions. Regardless of what Noma was hoping to do, she always put everyone before herself.
She is survived by her four sons, Kurt (Debra), David, Mark, and John; her grandchildren, Marcus, Nicholas (Trista), Lukas (Alyison), Megan (Parker), and Lauren; her great-granddaughter, Willow; her brothers, Byron and Grant; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; her parents; and her brothers, George and Ray.
Thank you to the staff at Trustwell Living at Cherryvale Place where Noma called home for the last three years. We also want to thank Amy Bilskey and Mercy Health Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
A private burial will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
