Sally Kay Schrader, 82, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Rockford, IL. She was born on May 21, 1943, in Rockford. Daughter of Fay S. Funk and Marian N. (Johnson) Lindquist. Fay was KIA during World War II in 1944. Sally was raised by her mother, Marian and father Everett Lindquist. She married Russell G. Schrader in 1981 in Belvidere. Sally and Russ lived many years in Bradenton, FL, before moving to Rockford, IL, until his passing in January of 2005.
She was a graduate of Rockford East High School. Attended Trinity College in Chicago, IL, Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL, and later in life earned her trust degree at Florida State University in Tampa, FL. Following a 20 year career in Real Estate in both Belvidere, IL and Bradenton, FL, Sally worked at Estwing Manufacturing Company for over 29 years in pension and benefits, and accounting department until her retirement in January of 2026.
Her faith was incredibly important to her; she remained an active parishioner, served on many committees and taught Sunday School at Shephard of the Valley church where she was devoted to giving. Sally was a past local club president for Pilot Club International, served on the Board of Directors of the Manatee County Heart Association, multi-year chairperson for the Manatee County Board of Realtors, and past member of the Manatee County and Anna Maria Island Real Estate Chamber of Commerce.
Outside of helping others, she loved to read, garden, cook, and bake. Overall, time spent with her family was her favorite.
Sally is survived by her daughter, Stacey (Kevin) Holder of Winnebago, IL; her son, Stephen (Barb) Morris of Bradenton, FL; her sister Pamela (Chuck) Hummel of Brodhead, WI; her brother, David Lindquist of Rockford, IL; her grandchildren, Justin (Rachel) Holder of Rockford, IL, Heather Holder of Machesney Park, IL, Andrew (Alysha) Vardell of South Bend, IN, Tyler (Lindsay Spickler) Holder of Byron, IL, Ryan (Mia) Longnecker of Platteville, WI, Jessica (James Koch) Brooks of Byron, IL, Trey Morris of Rockford, IL, Tyler (Anna) Morris of Reidsville, NC, Nicholas (Adriana Sanchez) Kortemeier of Winnebago, IL, Seth (Leah Apsey) Morris of Winnebago, IL, and Alexie Kortemeier of Bradenton, FL; her great grandchildren, Damian Holder, Ethan Holder, Vincent Bown, Jonathan Holder, Grayson Holder, Kyra Guetschow, Lia Cardenas, Rhett Holder, Paisley Holder, Tucker Brooks, Sterling Holder, Paislee Spickler, Ava Vardell, Adilynn Vardell, Maxine (Max) Longnecker; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved fur baby Charlie. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell, and her parents Marian and Everett Lindquist, and Fay S. Funk.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. All to take place at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
