Sandra L. Forberg, 86, passed away on July 28, 2026, in her hometown of Rockford, Illinois, surrounded by her family. Born on September 6, 1939, she was one of two daughters to Laverne and Faye (Quist) Sampson. She would go on to graduate from East High School, class of 1958, and shortly after she would marry her beloved Stanley “Keith” Forberg on September 26, 1959. In their 62 years of marriage, they made countless memories traveling across the world, exploring new restaurants and foods, or simply enjoying their companionship before his passing in February of 2022. Sandy was not only a devoted wife, but she was also a devoted and accomplished professional; she built her career at Estwing Manufacturing Company, retiring as their sales service manager after over 30 years of service. In her free time, she greatly enjoyed meeting with her card club, not necessarily for the game, but rather for the laughter, conversation, and comradery with her friends. She also found great pleasure in cooking, always eager to try new recipes and delight in the creativity that emerged from her kitchen.

She will be missed by those who loved her most, three sons Steven (Penny), David (Wendy), and Mark (Renee) Forberg; grandchildren Tyler, Hailee, Macie (fiancé Scott Gershen), Kristina (George) Windham, Jeremy (Estephanie), Kaelen, and Riley; four great grandchildren; brothers-in-law Larry and Jerry (Diane) Forberg, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Keith; her parents and her sister, Patricia DiGiovanni.
