Steven “Steve” D. Hoskinson, 75, of Loves Park, IL passed away March 17, 2026. Steve was born on January 30, 1951, in Gorin Missouri, the son of Paul and Sue (Shibley) Hoskinson. Steve attended Freeport High School, graduating in 1970. It is here that he met the love of his life, Sally Ferguson. They were married for 56 years. Steve was an exceptional husband who adored Sally. He was a proud iron worker and owned HOSS Steel Solutions, Inc. Steve loved sports, especially watching his son play baseball and more recently his grandsons, he never missed a game. Steve loved unconditionally and was respected for his wisdom and insights. He was a long-time friend of Bill W. Steve will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sally Jo; children, Chad (Tiffany) Hoskinson and Brandi Hoskinson Johnson; grandchildren, Brittany Hoskinson Peters, Anthony Johnson, and Caden Johnson; great grandchild, Lorenzo Johnson; sisters, Paula Short and Lorena Howery; brother-in-law, David (Deb) Ferguson; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Sloan Hoskinson; parents, Paul and Sue Hoskinson; in-laws, Thomas and Eleanor Ferguson; siblings, Tim Hoskinson, Jennifer Asche, and Robin Cook; brother-in-law, Tom Ferguson.

A Funeral Ceremony will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Visitation will be Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
