Sue Ann Ingersoll, 94, Rockford, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Born on April 19, 1932, Sue Ann lived a long life marked by steady work, simple pleasures, and care for others. She married Richard M. Ingersoll on December 12, 1952, in Chicago IL, where they remained married for 45 years until his passing on April 6, 1998.

She attended school in Des Plaines, Illinois, and carried that foundation with her into the years that followed.

For many years, Sue Ann worked as a bookkeeper and manager at Woodland Trailer Park in Rockford. In that role, she was known for her dedication and reliability, giving faithful service through her work and daily presence.

Beyond her working life, Sue Ann found happiness in the familiar comforts that made a home and family life rich. She enjoyed working in her yard, taking satisfaction in its care and beauty. She also loved word searches, pastimes that reflected both her patience and her sharp mind. Among her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren, whose company brought warmth and meaning to her days. She also had a special affection for her stuffed animals, a tender detail that spoke to her gentle spirit. In addition, she gave of herself as a volunteer at Swedish American Hospital, offering her time in service to others.

She is survived by her son, Steven Ingersoll; her daughter-in-law, Robynn Ingersoll; her grandchildren, Rebekah Stokes, Jenny (Will) Hughes, Melody (Jeff) Klassy, Nathaniel Ingersoll, Abraham (Emily) Ingersoll, Michele (Sean) Toohey, Rosemary (Jeff) McKenzie, and Jacob Ingersoll; her 7 great grandchildren; her sister, Bonnie (Ron) Denko; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her son, Michael Ingersoll; and her brother, Rodney (Eileen) VanSelow.
