Obituary

Teri H. Seivert, 69, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, in Rockford. She was born on October 24, 1956, , at Fort Leonard Wood Army Base in Rolla Missouri, the daughter of Lloyd L. and Michaeline “Mickey” A. (Blau) Heiser. She married the love of her life, Christoper “Chris” Seivert, on May 21, 1977, at St. James Catholic Church in Rockford, IL.

She left behind a legacy of selflessness, kindness, and unwavering love that touched all who knew her. Throughout her life, Teri embraced every role with a rare and beautiful grace—from her early days as a sales associate at Weise’s/Bergner’s at Colonial Village until her children were born. Then transitioned into the dedicated bookkeeper for Chris’s business, to what she described as her most fulfilling journey: being a devoted homemaker.

A proud graduate of Northern Illinois University in 1978, where she earned her bachelor's degree in sociology, Teri’s education was a foundation for her compassionate outlook and her desire to nurture and serve her community. She was a woman who truly embodied the meaning of putting others first. Her home was a sanctuary where everyone who crossed the threshold was welcomed and cherished, considered family regardless of who they were. This boundless love extended far beyond the walls of her home and was the hallmark of her generous spirit.

Teri’s love for her family was profound; she cherished her roles as wife and mother, but it was in being a grandma that her heart truly soared. A talented and thoughtful cook, she had an extraordinary gift for creating meals that were more than just food—they were expressions of love, crafted carefully and thoughtfully to suit each person’s tastes and needs. Her kitchen and dining tables were a place of warmth and comfort, much like her presence in the lives of those she loved.

Her hands were never still, as she enjoyed crafting and using her creativity to bring joy to those around her. But Teri’s contributions stretched far beyond her home. She was deeply committed to helping others, volunteering throughout her life with a passion that inspired many. A pillar of Holy Family Catholic Church, she was actively involved in the life of the parish, the school, and the broader community. She served on the Education Commission, taught confirmation classes, and volunteered in her children’s classrooms in her earlier years. More recently running the Scrip Program, volunteering in her grandchildren’s She is survived by her husband, Chris; her sons, Ian (Julie) Seivert, Justin (Erika) Seivert, Trevor (Rebecca) Seivert, Jared Seivert, Britton (Sam) Seivert, and her beloved foreign exchange student Lukas (Miri) Merz, whom she loved as her own; her grandchildren, Carter Seivert, Jayden Seivert; Addison Seivert, Gabriella Seivert; Abby Seivert, Dylan Seivert; Bennett Seivert, and Evyn Seivert; mother, Mickey Heiser; her mother-in-law, Claire Seivert; her siblings, Tom (Patti) Heiser, Tam (Mark) Heimer, and Todd (Jarrett) Heiser; and her many in-laws, nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her father, Lloyd Heiser; father-in-law Raymond Seivert: her sisters-in-law, Maryanne Heiser and Jenny Seivert; brothers-in-law, Rick and Mike Seivert.
