IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas A.
Danielson
March 8, 1962 – February 10, 2026
Thomas “Tom” Danielson, 63, went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2026. He passed peacefully in his sleep after a long illness, with his loving wife by his side.
Tom was a devoted husband. For 26 years, he shared a beautiful life with his wife, Nicky. Their bond was one of deep love, partnership, laughter, and unwavering devotion. They would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on February 17.
Tom’s faith was the foundation of his life. He grew up at Bethany United Methodist Church, where his love for God first took root. After marrying Nicky, they built their life together at Christ United Methodist Church, where their faith deepened and their church family became an important and cherished part of their lives. Tom loved his church community and the friendships and fellowship it brought.
Tom absolutely loved golf. He loved playing the game, watching the game, talking about the game… anything golf brought him joy. Some of his most treasured times were spent golfing with his dad, his nephew Steve, and his friends. When he was no longer able to play, he still found happiness living at Westlake Village, sitting on the deck and watching the golfers, staying connected to the game he loved so much.
He was also a loyal Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan through and through. He cheered faithfully, season after season, always hopeful. We can only imagine him now with the best seat in the house, watching and hoping this is the year they both have a great season.
Tom was a people person. During his years at MC Sports and PerMar Security Systems, he built lasting relationships and friendships everywhere he went. He didn’t just work with people, he connected with them. Conversations mattered to him. Relationships mattered to him. People mattered to him.
A graduate of East High School, Tom was a proud E-Rab. He cherished the lifelong friendships he maintained from childhood. Those bonds were incredibly special to him and remained a steady, meaningful part of his life.
Family and friends meant the world to Tom. He loved deeply, laughed easily, and found joy in the people around him. His presence was steady, kind, and full of heart.
While our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing he is now at peace, healed, and resting in God’s care.
Tom is survived by his wife, Nicky; his mother-in-law, Chris Knauer; his nephews and nieces, Steve and Carrie Moore, Bradley and Jennifer Moore, and Mark and Laura Snyder; his great-nephews and great-nieces, Alexandra and Omar, Adam, Kaitlyn, Matthew, Timothy, Luke, and Liam; his great-great-nephew, Santiago; his cousins, Sue Van Grove and Timothy Budden; and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Jane Danielson, his father-in-law, Ron Knauer; and his beloved sisters, Kathy Moore and Judy Snyder.
Tom’s legacy is one of love.
Love for his wife, love for his family, love for his friends, love for his church, love for golf, love for his teams, and love for a life well lived. He will be missed beyond words and remembered always.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at a later date, with details to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the family. The family also encourages you to honor Tom’s memory by doing something he loved… spending time with friends and family, cheering on your favorite team, or enjoying a day on the golf course.
