Kay L. Harris

Kay L. Harris, 71, of Rockford passed away in her home on Thursday, April 20, 2017. She was born on December 1, 1945 in Ottawa, IL, the daughter of Earl and Inez Katherine (Butz) Osmundson. She graduated from Ottawa High School in 1963. In September of 1968, she married the love of her life, John Harris in DeKalb. She devoted her life to caring for children at places such as Don Carter and Zion Lutheran Church. She was outgoing and patient, always on the go either working or volunteering for girl scouts and cub scouts. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her husband, John; her son, Stanley (Julia) Harris; grandchildren, Brandon, Erik, and Spenser Harris; many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is predeceased by her daughter, Diane Harris, her parents, brothers, and sister.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel. Inurnment private.
