If your loved one passed away due to COVID-19, you may be eligible for financial assistance. FEMA is now providing financial assistance of up to $9,000 per individual to cover funeral expenses for families who have lost a loved one due to COVID-19. Assistance is available for costs incurred after January 20, 2020 for funeral services, burial, and cremation.

Winnebago County CoVid-19 Announcement and How It Affects Funeral Visitations and Services
As of 01/25/2021, The "Restore Illinois" plan changed to Phase 4 mitigations for several industries, including funeral home visitations and services. This Phase limits the size of gatherings to a maximum of 50 people.
Groups are permitted given facilities have space to appropriately social distance and can limit interaction between groups. Masks are still a requirement.
