Alejandra Maria Cruz

Alejandra Maria Cruz, 34, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 surrounded by her family at Swedish American Hospital. Born June 3, 1976 in Mexico, she is the daughter of Andres and Esperanza (Cruz) Rodriguez. She was currently working for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois for over the past 5 years. Alejandra was a dedicated and faithful member of St. Edward Catholic Church and was a CCD teacher there as well. She was a big fan of Mickey Mouse and loved spending time with her children and family. She was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor and she will be missed dearly by all. Survivors include her daughter, Gabriela Herrera; son, Julian Herrera; her parents; brother, Andres Rodriquez; sisters, Sandra Rodriquez and Agustina (Mario) Manriquez; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Funeral Mass Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at St. Edward Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago. Visitation Monday, Feb. 28 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. from 5 -7 p.m. and continues on Tuesday in church from 9 until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family for a fund to be established for her children.
