Hainchek, Jr, 89, passed away Monday, September 3, 2012, at Provena Cor Mariae Center.nbsp; Alex was born April 11, 1923, in Mark, IL, the son of Alex John and Katie (Biavatti) Hainchek, Sr.nbsp; He married Delores Mordini in Highwood.nbsp; She predeceased him on January 19, 2000.nbsp; Alex and his uncle Albert owned and operated a grocery store on 11th St for 25 years and he later worked for the Pacemaker store in Belvidere until his retirement.nbsp; He is a WWII veteran of the Marines, serving in Guam and Iwo Jima. Alex received the Purple Heart during his service.nbsp; He is member of the Belvidere VFW, Post No.1461.nbsp; He is a long time member of St. Rita Catholic Church where he was a member of the first class of Deacons. Alex was a 3 rd degree member of Knights of Columbus No.7624 St. Rita Council and an Eagle Scout and past Scoutmaster of Troop No.43.nbsp; He was an avid golfer and a diehard Cubs fan. a?It is now truly copasetica?

Survived by his children, Alan (Marcia) Hainchek, Linda (Richard) Cascio, Loren J. (Wendy) Hainchek, Kevin (Cindy) Hainchek, and Jodee (Dan) Johnson; grandchildren, Kim (David)Hartzke, Richard Cascio, Sadye Hainchek, Layla Hainchek, Eric and Scott Hainchek, Will Ranum, Lance Hainchek and Maloree and Matthew Johnson; great grandchildren, Kiera and Kale Hartzke; brothers, Eugene a?Bozoa? (Carmen) Hainchek and Joseph (Heidi) Borgini; many nieces and nephews.,nbsp; Predecease by his wife, Delores.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, Monday, September 10, 2012, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6284 Valley Knoll Drive, with Father William Wentink officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.nbsp; Visitation from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with the Rosary recited at 4:00 pm. There will also be a visitation from 9:30 am until 10:15 on Saturday at the church.nbsp; Memorials to the Knights of Columbus or to Belvidere VFW Post 1461.
