Alice L. Mitchell

Alice L. Mitchell, 96, of Rockford, IL passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022. Alice was born October 15, 1925, in Wilsonville, IL the daughter to Margaret (Landers) and Chris Cox. Alice attended Gillespie High School graduating in 1943. She married the love of her life, Charles Arch Mitchell on March 3, 1946. They went on to have three children. Alice was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Central Christian Church. Alice was also in the order of the Eastern Star. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Margaret (Bruce) Love and Gail (Dan) Dailey; son, Bill (Deborah) Mitchell; grandchildren, Bruce (Garrett Brentzil) Love, Jr., Annette (Mark) Peterson, Jen (Buck) Hagemann, Dave Hayward, Daniel J. Dailey, James (Jen) Thompson, Charles Thompson, April (Barry) Lawrence; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Margaret Cox; husband, Charles Arch; granddaughter, Deanna Hayward; 1 brother and 3 sisters.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 11:00 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Visitation will be held prior from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
