Ann M. Dal Santo

Ann M. Dal Santo, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2018, at the home of her son.
Ann was born in Rockford to Maria Ferro and Vittorio Piai. She was a 1941 graduate of Rockford West High School. Ann married John Dal Santo in 1946, and they have loved each other for more than 72 years. Faith, family, and friends were very important in her life. Ann loved bowling, going on gambling trips and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. She was a faithful member of St. Anthony Church and St. Bernadette Church for many years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Ann is survived by her devoted husband John, her daughters, MaryKay (Gary) Nelson of AZ, Susan (Glen) Hammack, Judi (Joel) Blomberg, and her son, Tom, all of Rockford; 8 grandchildren, John (Angea), Joann, Jeffrey (Carey), Mark, Andrew, Allison, Alex and Bryan; 2 step grandchildren, Teresa (Billy) and Eric (Barb); 2 great granddaughters, Cheyenne and Ella; 4 step great grandchildren, Jayden, Sophia, Jackson and Sydney; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers and their spouses, 2 sisters-in-law and their spouses, 2 nephews, a niece, and her dear daughter-in-law, Karen Dal Santo.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at St. Bernadette Church, 2400 Bell Ave., Rockford, IL, 61103. Burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Bernadette Church and Northern IL Hospice, 4215 Newburg Rd., Rockford, IL, 61108.
Ann received loving and compassionate care from her husband and children. The family extends special thanks to the staff of Northern IL Hospice and In-Home Medical. Thank you also to the residents and staff of Siena on Brendenwood, who were such good friends to John and Ann during the 8 years they lived there.
