Anna T. Usiewicz

Anna T. Usiewicz, 95, Rockford, formerly of Kankakee, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011, in Rosewood Care Center. Born December 6, 1915, in Kankakee, daughter of George and Lillie (Shoven) Spenard. Married to Joseph F. Usiewicz in Kankakee on July 16, 1938. He passed away January 30, 1983. She worked at Bear Brand Hosiery Plant during WWII and later as a retail clerk, retiring from Carson Pirie Scott after 20 years. Anna was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Kankakee. She was an avid volunteer for many organizations. She moved to Rockford in 2001, to be near her family. She enjoyed walking, swimming, and exercising until well into her 90's. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and was involved in many activities with her friends at the YMCA and at Valley View Apts. where she lived. Survived by a son, Joseph A. Usiewicz of Palos Verdes, CA and her daughter, Susan (Scott) Francis of Rockford; grandchildren, Andrea (Scott) Tazelaar and Aaron Biggs; great grandchildren, Noah and Carolina; sister, Lillie Spenard; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, 7 brothers and 3 sisters.Funeral Mass will be 11:30 am, Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd. Rockford, IL 61107 with Msgr. David D. Kagan officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Kankakee on Wednesday at 11:00am. Rosary at 10:00am, Tuesday with a visitation following until time of service. Memorials to Poor Clare Nuns Corpus Christi Monastery or Klehm Arboretum.
