Anthony E. Principali

Rockford-Anthony E. Principali, 83, died Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Provena Cor Mariae Center. Born March 1, 1927 in Joliet, son of Archangelo and Justine (Preite) Principali. Married his loving wife Sylvia Ludovici on October 1, 1949. Tony was a self employed manufacturing representative nbsp;and a very talented trumpet player. A long time member of the local Musicians Union.nbsp; His one and only passion in life was music, he loved it and lived it. During his music career he was honored to have played with many big bands such as Harry James, Teddy Phillips and Ray McKinley. He was a wonderful man whose talents and friendship will be greatly missed.nbsp; Survivors include his wife Sylvia; son Tony (Tracy) Principali; daughter, Denise (Tim) Castelli; grandchildren, Jessica and Luca Principali and Elena and Alex Castelli. Preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Jena Eaves and two brothers, Domenic and Angelo Principali.

Funeral Mass, Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4407 Highcrest Rd. at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday in church from 10:00 until time of prayer at 10:45. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family for a fund to be established in his name at the Swedish American Cancer Center, Rockford. Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel is assisting the family.
