Anthony Pellegrini

Anthony "Tony" Nicholas Pellegrini, 87, Madison, Wisconsin, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013, in St. Mary Hospital in Madison following an extended illness. He was born February 22, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Raphael and Maria (Gismondi) Pellegrini. Tony was a lifelong resident of the Detroit area. He attended Wilbur Wright High School and was a veteran of the Navy serving in the Pacific theater during WWII. He married Ann Frisella on November 23, 1947, in Rockford. Tony was a longtime member of The Shrine of the Little Flower Catholic Church in Royal Oak, Michigan. Tony was an industrial salesman for many auto manufacturers in the Detroit area. He was a proud member of the Sons of Italy and enjoyed listening to music and playing the organ. His family was cherished above everything and devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the foundation of his life.

Survived by his loving wife of almost 66 years, Ann; his children, Greg (Pat) Pellegrini of Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert (Kathy) Pellegrini of Elkhorn, Iowa, his twins, Mary (Steve Pike) Carle of Madison, Wisconsin and Barbara (Dave) Pellegrini Allen of Marlborough, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Amy (Jeff) Mischnick, Joe (Becky)Pellegrini, Christina Pellegrini-Kozlowski, Tiffany (Greg) Hiem, Eric Arndt, and Anthony (Jen) Pellegrini, Samantha Carle, and Jenny Allen; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Spencer. Predeceased by his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law; his brother, James.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Friday, May 17, 2013, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson St. with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Visitation from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel with the Rosary recited at 6:45 pm. and from 9:00 am until 9:45 am at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Project, One Intrepid Square, W 46th St and 12th Av, New York, NY, 10036. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
