Anthony T. Rappa 76 of Rockford passed away Monday February 11, 2013 in Swedish American Hospital.He was born October 17, 1936 in Rockford IL, the son of Thomas and Louise Rappa.Graduate of St. Thomas High School class of 54.He married Beverly Rudolph in Rockford on August 21, 1980.He worked for Illinois Bell for 20 years, RPS 205 for seven years and for Rock River Towers for eleven years.Tony loved to hunt and fish. He caught fish, stones and rocks.Member of St Anthony Church and the Venetian Club.Former member of The Eagles Club and the VFW. Survivors include his wife Beverly.Three children, Teresa Daugherty of Rockford, Paula Reynolds of Rockford and Douglas (Lea) Rappa of Pecatonica.28 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.Brother, John (Ann) Rappa of Rockford.Sister, Pat Harris of Rockford.Brotherinlaw, Alan (Pat) Rudolph of CA.Numerous nieces and nephews.Predeceased by his parents. sister, Josephine and Brotherinlaws, George Slomian and Brent Harris. Mass of Christian Burial at 10am Friday February 15, 2013 in St Anthony Church with the Franciscan Friars officiating.Burial in Willwood Burial Park.Visitation from 5pm until 7pm Thursday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home 3910 North Rockton Ave with rosary at 7pm.Visitation also from 9am until service time Friday in the church.In lieu of flowers memorials to be established by the family.
