Aphayvanh "Tony" Sonethavilay

Aphayvanh “Tony” Sonethavilay, 47, passed away in his home on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Born in Saphay, Laos, son to Singthong and Manikhone Sonethavilay. As a child, Tony came to the United States with his family. He enjoyed spending his time in his home, most notably around all of his electronics. He was a quiet, smart, friendly, and generous man, who loved his nieces and nephews dearly.

He will be missed by those who loved him most, his mother; his sisters Malisavanh “Malisa” (Steve) McClanahan and Souksavanh “Souky” Sonethavilay; his nieces and nephew Nalida, Nolan and Kaia; his 17 aunts and uncles with his numerous cousins. He is predeceased by his father and maternal and paternal grandparents.

A visitation will take place on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108.
