Austin R. Farruggia, 21Beloved SonAustin Raymond Farruggia, 21, Rockford died Sunday, December 5, 2010 in his home of natural causes. Born September 16, 1989 in Rockford, beloved son of Raymond Farruggia and Tammie Talmadge Nessmith. Member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Graduated from East High School in 2008. Austin was a warm, loving young man who always wanted to see people happy. He was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed the Packers, Cubs and Bulls. One of his favorite Sunday events was planning the menu for the weekly Packer viewing parties. He loved spending time in the pool with his brother, Uncle Sam and special friend Zach. He was an outstanding bowler, with numerous 300 games, and bowled on a league with his dad, Uncle Sam and brother. He played a great game of Horse and he loved taking his Uncle Sam's money in friendly wagers on games of Horse and other games of chance.. He loved to cook, and his plan was to become a chef. He was always a good host and the best of times were always the family gatherings when he could be with all those that loved him and enjoyed his company and talents. He will be terribly missed.Survivors include his father, Raymond Farruggia; mother, Tammie (Patrick) Nessmith; brother, Benjamin Farruggia; half-brother, Steve Lehrke; paternal grandmother, Antoinette "Toni" Farruggia; maternal grandparents, Keith and Carline Talmadge; aunts and uncles, Sam (Ann) Farruggia and Kevin (Nancy) Talmadge; great aunts and great uncles, Gene and Pat, Josie, Angie, Sylvia, Mary and John, Joe and Chickie. Also survived by cousins, Nathan Talmadge, Gia (Dustin) , Tarah and many other special cousins, including Heather, Christopher and Anthony and his very good friend, Zach. Predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Anthony Farruggia and cousin, Ashley Farruggia.A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. William R. Wentink officiating. Visitation from 11 a.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
