Barbara L. Montana

Barbara L. "Bobbie" Montana, 64, of Rockford, died Monday, April 2, 2012 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center with her family at her side. Born December 5, 1947 in Chicago, the daughter of Lawrence and Audra (Cutsinger) Madden. Married her loving husband, Charlie Montana on February 4, 1967 in Rockford. Bobbie worked as an LPN at Provena Cor Mariae until 2010. She was an avid reader, loved to sew and go to movies, but best of all, she truly enjoyed spending time with her wonderful grandchildren. Bobbie was sure to be at any of their athletic events or just be that wonderful caring grandmother when Shay, Lexi or Seth visited. They were her world and she was theirs. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister and she is together again with her dear son, Dominic. Survivors include her husband, Charlie of Rockford; daughter, Victoria (Les Edwards) Montana of Cherry Valley; son, Chuck (Cheryl) Doyle of Leaf River; grandchildren, Corey, Hunter, Lexi, Christopher, Channing, Shay, Taylor, Trey, Seth, Jillian and Carly; sisters, Pat (John) Hinkle of Arizona, Sandy (Anthony) Montana of Rockford and Joanna (William) Peterson of Belvidere; special niece, Geanna Garrison and numerous additional nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Laura Lee and her beloved son, Dominic Montana on March 20, 2011. Memorial service Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Karla Garcia officiating. Visitation Saturday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until time of services. Inurnment to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family for a fund to be established.
