Benjamin "Ben" A. Fettes

October 13, 1996 — June 5, 2021

Benjamin “Ben” Alex Fettes, 24, of Belvidere, IL passed away unexpectedly in his home on June 5, 2021. He was born October 13, 1996, to Brian Fettes and Candace Cacciatore. Ben graduated from Jefferson High School in 2015 and then went on to Rock Valley College where he studied Industrial Technology and earned many trade certificates. He worked at Header Tool and Die for 2 years, O’Reilly’s for 2 years, Do It Best in Rochelle for 5 years, and was currently working at EJR Technology and had been there for a little over a year. Ben was the type of person who always put others before himself, he was a very loyal friend, and had a big heart. He was an extremely hard worker, he spent even his free time working in his garage on dirt bikes, four wheelers, and his truck. Ben always has a project going. He loved taking things apart and rebuilding. He may not have ever liked school but he never stop wanting to learn. He would spend his weekends at the property just hanging out with friends, doing projects, riding dirt bikes and relaxing with a bon fire. Ben enjoyed making other people laugh and was known as the jokester. He loved outdoor activities such as snowboarding, skateboarding, kayaking, and riding his dirt bike. Ben even taught his favorite little sister, Elyanna how to snowboard. Those are memories she will cherish forever. He enjoyed fishing with his grandpa, the two of them entered a fishing tournament every year when Ben was younger at Bauman Park, and they won the Biggest Fish award. Ben's recent adventures lead him to start raising chickens with his sister Jessica and Brandon and snowplowing in the winter. He was looking forward to making his business grow. If you know Ben as well as Melissa did you know how much he loved Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Ben has a tremendous caring heart and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Ben is survived by his parents, Brian Fettes and Candace (Brent Borkgren) Cacciatore; his grandparents, Faye Ford and Marilyn Fettes; his siblings, Jessica Fettes, Johnathan Fettes, and Elyanna Whitby; his step-brothers, Tyler Robles and Bryan Robles; his girlfriend of 6 years, Melissa Flores, Melissa’s parents, Kimberly Zidarich and Patrick Flores, Melissa’s brothers, Anthony Flores, Alex Flores, and Chris Nicholas; his aunts and uncles, Chris, Adrianne, Debbie, Mary, Steve, Jerry, Lynette, and Monica; numerous cousins; his best friend, Christian Lightheart and his dog, Sky.
