Betty J. Puricelli (nee Johnson), 85, Rockford, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2010, in River Bluff Nursing Home. She was born April 19, 1925, in Rockford, the daughter of Alfred and Catherine (Uppenkamp) Johnson. Betty married Rudolph Puricelli, Jr. in Rockford on November 7, 1945. She was employed at Gruno's Jewelers for 20 years, retiring in 1990 and also volunteered at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center for many years.Survived by her children, Jill K. (Tom) Becker of Rockford, Jack T. (Lori) Puricelli of Grand Rapids, MI, and Jody Puricelli Jungerberg of Rockford; grandchildren, Jason (Junko) Bice of San Francisco, CA, Lauren Peterson of Cinncinati, OH, Erin (Andrew) Jungerberg Jury of Rockton, Megan (fiancé, Rick Wiley) Jungerberg of Rockford, Taylor Puricelli of Grand Rapids, MI, and Adam Puricelli of Chicago; brother, Fred (Mary Jane) Johnson of Rockford. Predeceased by her husband, Rudolph in 2007, parents, sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Warren Scott, and sister-in-law, Barbara Lynch.Funeral Mass will be at 10am, Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at St Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford, IL 61109, with Monsignor Gerald P. Kobbeman officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Monday, October 25, 2010, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108, with a Rosary service at 6:45pm. Visitation will also be from 9:00am until 9:45am on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center, 4215 Newburg Rd., Rockford, IL 61108, Alzheimer's Association 4777 E. State St, Rockford, IL 61107, or the charity of donor's choice.
