Betty R. Hale, 74 of Rockford went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2008. Born November 23, 1933 in rural Winslow, IL. Daughter of Hazel Alleta (Roberts) Boyer and Howard Harrison Boyer. Graduated from Winslow High School in 1951. She married Nathan Joseph Hale in the Nora Community Church, Nora, IL on October 12, 1951. Betty farmed with her husband near Winslow and later partnered with her husband at Nathan Hale Appliance and TV both in Stockton and Elizabeth. They moved to Rockford in 1985. She was employed as a secretary by Rockford Board of Education at Guilford High School and retired in 2001. She was a member of Maywood Evangelical Free Church of Rockford. nbsp; Betty is survived by her husband, son Douglas (Graciella) Hale of Roscoe, daughters Deborah Hale of Palatine, Diana (Steven) Jones of Winnebago, Donna (late Sgt. Daniel) Steele of Freeport. Six grandchildren Maria (Rev. Kevin) Kringel, Jennifer Hale, Brooke (Adam) Stubbs, Jeremy Jones, Kelsi Jones, Daniel Steele II and six great-grandchildren. One brother Robert A. (Mary) Boyer of Lena and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, her infant sister and her son-in-law. nbsp; Funeral Service will be Monday, January 28, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in Maywood Evangelical Free Church, 3621 Samuelson Road, Rockford with the Pastor David Currie officiating. Visitation will be from 3-6 pm Sunday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. and from 12 until time of service in the church. Burial will be Wednesday in Rock Lily Cemetery, Winslow, IL. In lieu of flowers a Betty Hale memorial fund has been established for Life Church Assembly of God in Roscoe, IL and Maywood Evangelical Free Church in Rockford.
