Brad T. Moberg, 58, a lifelong resident of Rockford, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, surrounded by his loving wife and son. Born April 29, 1952, the son of Kent and Marcella (Reiter) Moberg. A graduate of Boylan High School (Class of 1970), Brad earned the degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering in 1975 from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville.nbsp; He married his wife, Susan Dzielak, on May 24, 1975 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Rockford. Certified as a professional engineer in Illinois and Wisconsin, Brad was a member of Chi Epsilon, the National Civil Engineering Honor Society, and worked nbsp;35 years for the City of Rockford as the City Engineer.nbsp;nbsp; He was to have his official retirement celebration in January.nbsp; A devout Catholic and active in the pro-life movement, Brad was a devoted husband and father. nbsp;An avid Notre Dame fan, he enjoyed hunting and especially enjoyed his annual fishing trip to Nokay Lake in Brainerd, Minnesota.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Moberg of Rockford; children, Brent Moberg of South Bend, Indiana and Emily (Nate) Mogren of Muskegon, Michigan; grandchildren, Gunnar and Annika Mogren; parents, Kent and Marcella Moberg of Loves Park; brother Lyman.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, Dec. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Oratory, 517 Elm St. Visitation Friday, Dec. 10 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel 3910 N. Rockton Ave. from 4: 00 - 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary nbsp;to be recited at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Brian Geary .nbsp; Interment will be held on Monday, Dec. 13 in the University of Notre Dame Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame, Indiana.nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorial to be established by the family.
